Up on clwd nine.

Bold, playful, streetwear, classic & contemporary, the unique style of clwd nine., a new fashion brand made in Jordan, caught our eye. We step on clwd nine. with Farah Bazlamit, the creative mind behind this label.

It all started with one design, the ‘Bouni’, a structured comfy oversized top, with voluminous balloons sleeves and a stand collar, now the brand’s signature piece. The positive feedback she received inspired Farah to start her own clothing line. ‘The idea for clwd nine. was born in 2019, but it wasn’t until 2022 that we officially launched the brand’. Retro organic cotton shirts with padded shoulders, paired with high-rise linen shorts in classic olive green, blue or beige and a playful pastel bubbly bomber made of ‘scuba mesh’ with a star pattern, featured in her first summer collection. Her creations blend the classic and the edgy, ‘with an element of surprise’. It can pop in the shape of sharply defined shoulders, voluminous sleeves, or a deconstructed cut. The looks are inspired by the worlds of art, fashion and Farah’s own preferences; ‘this mix helps to create a distinct and exclusive aesthetic for the brand.’ For her latest winter collection, the designer introduced a quilted oversized jacket with a ‘trench coat silhouette’, a belted coat with edgy shoulders finished with stylish leather trims, and a snug matching set; a quilted sweater paired with a flare skirt, in shades of avocado green and navy blue. As for what’s next, Farah tells us ‘we’re currently working on our new Spring Summer 23 collection, which will be released soon.’ She hints that denim will be a star fabric for her upcoming pieces.

Farah has as background in Industrial Engineering but always had a penchant for fashion. She began designing and tailoring pieces for herself, to create what she liked and couldn’t find on the market. ‘I was in search of modern minimalist clothing that didn't appear outdated’, original pieces not easily found in stores. Her friends started asking her questions about her clothes and that is how the idea for her brand began to emerge. The pieces with their unique detailing and original cuts are carefully crafted in her homeland, Jordan. Each piece can take several months, from design, to prototype and production to find the perfect fit. Farah goes on hunts looking for the right fabric and sometimes the texture itself will inspire a style; like the high-rise Ebba skirt, in a felt fabric, cut in fringes to create movement in the traditionally stiff material. She looks for fabrics with distinctive features that cater to the imaginative shapes and structures of her design. With clwd nine., Farah set out to create timeless pieces with her signature blend of cozy, oversized, classic and trendy. The clwd nine. photoshoots give us a peak into unsuspected tidbits of Jordan; an underground parking in a deserted mall, a secret passage inside a traditional house with wrought iron windows and lemon trees, or snow-capped hills with patches of green grass. An invitation to clwd. nine. this slow life brand introduces us to a fascinating layer of the Jordanian fashion scene.
